As an Active Plan member, you are not permitted to withdraw your vested pension account until your termination or retirement from your employment and based on the provisions of the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) between your Employer and the Union.
You need to complete an Application for Pension Benefits form, inform your Employer and return to Ellement as soon as possible.
Please note: You are responsible for apply for your pension benefit. In the event of your death, your spouse or beneficiary may apply for any pension benefit entitlement owning. The Spousal Waiver of Pre-Retirement Death Benefit can be obtained from your employer, from Ellement or online. Once the Application has been received, an option package will be sent to you. Your Normal Retirement Date (NRD) is the 1st day of the month following your 65th birthday or your 65th birthday if it’s the 1st day of the month.
